Feeling Like a Grown-Up

We're deep in the mid-winter funk right now, even though the weather has been awesome. I sometimes struggle in the winter- struggle with exhaustion and lack of motivation. However, this weekend we definitely got some pep back in our step, and it was fantastic. Friday night Darreck and I went out on a date, and even though our meal wasn't great, dessert at the chocolate shop rocked and the company was fantastic. Next, I went out to baby shower, the first one in awhile. I was initially reluctant to go, but I ended up staying past eleven and talking with everyone there. It was a blast, and it made me realize how much I needed that female interaction.

Saturday, Darreck had the day off, so we ran around as a family. We started the day at the duck pond, which the boys always love. Jack is really getting around on the playground this year. It's so much fun to watch! Then, we met my parents for lunch at the mall, where I got my favorite, famous gyro. It totally made up for dinner the night before! Mom even bought the boys shoes. We're so thankful for everything my family does for our boys. After a trip to the grocery store, we left the boys with my sister while we met up with couple friends for game night. Once again, we stayed out way too late but had a blast laughing it up. The only bummer is that these particular friends are moving in a few months, but if we refused to hang out with people who aren't staying in Great Falls, we'd never have any friends.

Now I'm busily planning for summer trips, and life is starting to feel more fun and manageable. It's seems like every stage with the boys get more and more fun, and I love having something to look forward to this year. It may only be March, but I'm already gearing up for summer.
