The good and the bad

It's been an eventful week, which I expected with a newborn at home. Unfortunately, not all the events have been good. We found out that Darreck got a social work job in Great Falls only to then later find out that they couldn't make him an offer because of a statewide hiring freeze. Now it's back to the drawing board...

In Max news, he's been jaundiced since his 3 day checkup, and we've been having to keep him on a billibed around the clock- which he HATES, by the way. They think we should be able to take him off it tomorrow, and I can't wait. It's been torture not being able to hold him except for during feedings. I miss cuddling with my sweet little guy! Wish us luck on the next blood draw!

Here is us trying to lay Max in the sun after the initial blood draw that indicated jaundice. His levels were just too high and we had to get the billibed, in home nursing, and the whole shebang. If nothing else, at least this picture is cuter than heck!
This is Max in the much-detested billibed. I really don't blame him for not liking it.

Finally home!!!!

Daddy and Max instantly became best buds. Darreck is doing great, by the way, and he sends his love and excitement as well.

A few hours after birth

The morning we got to go home, May 24th
PS- for at least one more pic, until I get more on here, you can check out the www.gritman.org stork report for a really cute picture of Max looking like he's smiling!

MAX IS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello all! I knew that some of you would want some info on Max's birth, but I also know the pictures are probably more important so those will be coming shortly. In case you haven't heard...

Max Deloy Hale was born at 9:06 AM on Saturday May 23rd. He was a healthy and surprisingly large 8 pounds 8.4 ounces and measured out at 20-1/2 inches. He came exactly a week before his due date after an incredibly successful, 13 hour natural labor (yeah Max, go us!).

Darreck and I could not be more excited about this amazing little miracle sent to us from our Heavenly Father. He's perfect in every way and we're really enjoying having him at home now and learning all about him. It still amazes me that he was the little guy inside me for all these months. Can't wait for you all to see him soon and, if any of you in Moscow want to stop by, we would love some visitors!

Graduation Weekend

Graduation was this weekend, although it still feels a little odd to be done with school. I keep having this nagging feeeling that I should be working on homework. Hopefully that will pass quickly. Thanks to all the family who made the trek up to Moscow- we loved seeing everyone. Now if Darreck can just get a job...

Our Welcome to Blogging!

After much pressure from my mom of all people, Darreck and I decided to start a blog- meaning I would do all the blogging and he would tease me when I got too sentimental. Gotta love him! I figured it was a great time to start because I could begin with some info on graduation and not have to start from scratch when Max arrived. I'm pretty sure the little one is the main reason our families want us to start blogging- everyone wants pictures once he's born!
