Pretty calm week- no sickness, no disasters, no problems! Yeah! I did, however, go to a doctors checkup this week, but even that wasn't very exciting. We got to hear baby's heartbeat (150) and I had to do a glucose challenge test, but that came back normal. I actually felt a little bad for Darreck- he missed the last appointment, where we did an ultrasound, so we made sure to get a sitter for this one and nothing happened. He's still feeling a little cheated...
On the huge upside, we got our date for the big, important ultrasound! On March 19th we should be finding out if peanut is a boy or a girl and, as a little teaser, we're pretty sure we have names decided. I'll let everyone know when we know the gender- stay tuned!

Max's ABC's
Max has been singing his ABC's for awhile now, with some help, but he's got it almost down by himself now. This is (roughly) the version he was singing in the car on his way to church today:
ABCDEFG...JK...Elmo Pees...QRSTUVWXYZ... Now Max knows his ABC...DEFG and on and on and on.
It's kinda cool that he got it on his own loop, but when he gets tired of saying his ABC's he'll cut the ABCDEFG at the end and switch to singing Twinkle, Twinkle, Twinkle Star (apparently the star in his mind isn't little). In his defense, Twinkle and ABC have very similar tunes. Oh, and it really does sound like he's saying Elmo Pees instead of LMNOP. And, yes, he always always forgets H and I.
Max does and says so many cute little things every day, and I wish I could remember to write all of them down more frequently. I know that, in a remarkably short amount of time, this time frame will only be memories. I want to enjoy every moment of him being little and a little goofy.

Sick, Sick, Sick
I finally posted about Peanut and vowed to do better with the blogging, and then I was struck down by the plague of seasonal illness. I had the best of intentions about blogging more and cleaning more and cooking more and basically getting back to my life, but the best laid plans are usually the ones that go awry. So, here's a quick recap of the past two weeks:
- Sunday, Max gets pink eye, goes to the doctor
- Monday, I get the flu, don't get out of bed for two straight days
- Thursday, flu and Max's pink eye gone, only to find out that now I have pink eye
- Friday, I wake up with a massive head cold that just...will...not...go...away
- The Weekend, Darreck starts to go a little batty from doing evvveeerrryyything
- The Next Monday, I wake up with a slightly different strain of the flu, stay in bed for another day
- The Next Wednesday, I get out of bed to find my head cold still in full force
- The Next Friday, I'm convinced I have strep, throat is killing me
- The final Saturday, I wake up almost feeling normal, no idea why
That's the basic run-down and, honestly, I'm surprised I remembered that much. I also had a few church meetings in there and I completely bailed on a symphony concert (for the first time ever). It's all sort of a blur.
In summary, being sick sucks and I'm still going to try and get back to my life. Yeah, good luck.
