We've been in major remodel mode this week. Crazy, crazy! Like we ripped apart the entire first floor of the house. It's been nuts and messy and busy, but it'll all be over in a few days. Hopefully, I'll have some awesome before and after pictures by this time next week.
Amid the chaos, the boys have been doing some pretty cool things. We've known that Luke was capable of walking for some time now, but he's been resistant to change. I've been able to watch the wheels turning in his head, analyzing how to best start walking. Well, he finally did it- started walking! And, in true Luke fashion, there have been very few wobbly steps and huge falls. His first few steps took him all the way across the room. When the boy decides to do something, he does it right! He's also been communicating with us more regularly. He can say mama, dada, done, and nana (banana, his favorite food). Luke has also learned to shake his head no and nod for yes. We're so proud of our little man!
Max started piano lessons this week. He's been playing around with me for a few months, but I decided to have him start taking formal lessons with a friend from church. He's doing great so far, and he's been great about wanting to practice. He's also awesome about wanting to do his homework, so much so that we have to supplement the work he gets from preschool. The kid is a sponge, always eager to soak up new information. He loves to learn, and he's been excelling at school.
The other cute kid thing lately has been prayer time. Luke has learned to fold his arms all by himself, and he does so at every prayer. Max has been praying on his own for some time now, but he's been especially cute lately. He starts with "Dear Heavenly Fauder" and then always asks to have a "really, really, really, really good day."
We love our boys! Even when they add substantially to the construction mess! We feel so blessed to have two intelligent, thoughtful, curious, and hilarious kids.
